Our Journey
From a single office in 1955 to a regional leader in Caribbean engineering.
1955
The Beginning in Trinidad
CEP’s story began in 1955, when founder David Key established the first office in Trinidad under the name David Key & Partners.
1963
Expansion to Barbados
Eight years later, a new office was opened in Barbados. Soon after, Tony Gibbs took over management of the Barbados branch, guiding it until 1996. Over this time, the firm evolved from David Key & Associates into today’s Consulting Engineers Partnership Limited (CEP), officially renamed in 1974.
1969-75
Regional Growth
To meet the growing demand across the Caribbean, CEP extended its reach:
- Grenada (1969) – Office established to support local projects.
- Dominica (1971) – A permanent office was set up.
